Guiry’s Art Supplies & Paint

Starting as a paint and wallpaper company in 1899, Guiry's has supported the Denver community with 10 locations and has expanded into paint, wallpaper, window coverings, home décor, furniture, faux painting supplies, and fine art supplies. Guiry’s remains a family-owned business, and is currently being run by the third and fourth generation of Guirys.

Understanding what their customers need is one reason Guiry's has been around for over 100 years. Developing an online presence where customers can research and purchase products was a no-brainer. Guiry's approached Neon Rain to develop an online shopping cart presence to better serve their growing customer base.

Apache SolrNeon Rain integrated Apache Solr, an open source enterprise search platform, to create a robust product search and recommendation system. Some features include full-text search, faceted search, dynamic clustering, real-time indexing, rich document (PDF) handling. Providing distributed search and index replication, Solr was designed for scalability.

Clear and concise. Guiry's wasn't trying to lead the market with a new and cutting edge shopping cart. They needed something that people would intuitively recognize without making it overly complex to check out.

Neon Rain designed the Guiry's website to be responsive to various device resolutions. This means there is one version of the website that recognizes the resolution of the device it’s being viewed on, and automatically adjusts all of the text, photos, and menus to be optimal for that particular resolution.
