"We came from a web developer who was extremely frustrating and difficult to get ahold of. My two biggest concerns when working on my website are always communication and getting things done as quickly as possible. Neon Rain has been amazing at both. I wish I would have done my whole process with them—designing, developing, maintaining, updates, etc. Next time I have a need for a new website, I’m using Neon Rain start to finish."
"Neon Rain is a stellar team to work with—from conception all the way through development, launch, and ongoing site optimization. They immediately understood my goals and gave their strategic input on the project. I set incredibly high expectations for this website, and they delivered on those and beyond. The CMS has worked flawlessly, and we've received fantastic feedback. "
Mile High United Way
"Now we can provide advanced features, such as a school locator, weather alerts, news, and customized school websites to our parents, students, and community members. Neon Rain’s creativity, experience, and technical abilities put us on a platform that will serve us well for many years to come."
Littleton Public Schools
"The system is incredibly user-friendly, which makes customer signup easy, enhances franchisee communications, and enables us to track both marketing and operations data quickly and accurately. We launched the site with one store; now we have 23. It has grown right along with our needs—without the usual growing pains."
"It works and looks great, and it was completed on time and on budget. The service has been fantastic after launch. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about Neon Rain."
Your project is an investment. Our job is to help you weigh your options and make your best choice. Not pitch you “the thing we do.”
Integrations and 301 redirects? We translate the jargon (unless you speak the language). So you always know exactly what we’re working on. And why.
You get a dedicated project manager for the entirety of your build. And you can expect to hear back from us within hours (but often more like minutes).
You tell us about your business, competitors, functionality needs, and ideal outcomes. (We're all ears!) So that we can create a rock-solid blueprint for your website structure.
This is where the magic happens. After your feedback, we bring your site to life by setting up the platform, integrating the layout and look, building functional areas, and migrating content - we essentially code it into existence. And make it 100% functional for both you and your visitors.
Your site gets tested across all major browsers and devices. Then it's optimized for speed and loading times. So that your users have a seamless (and seriously fast!) experience. No matter how they find you.
You'll have access throughout the project to play with the site in a Staging environment. And leading up to launch, you'll be able to review and provide final approval.
You'll get hands-on, step-by-step training for you and your whole team. So that everyone involved knows exactly how to manage your site. We also provide reference material to make sure it's smooth sailing from now on.
Your site goes live! And now it's all yours. We'll be right there to *cheers* and support you through the launch. And we're always available for ongoing maintenance... or your next project.
That depends on your goals and the kind of functionality you need. But we're here to help you think through your options. We build in several major platforms. So we won't talk you into a Drupal site if it's not the right fit.
Drupal is most often used by higher education and governmental sites because it is secure and allows for flexible content authoring workflows.
This helps when you have multiple content editors from different departments and workflows on who can edit what areas, etc.
The exact timeframe depends on the complexity of your project. But we do have a diligent project management system in place. That includes aggressive timelines to keep your project on track.
Simple projects take weeks and more complex projects take months.
Yes, we utilize multiple methods for migrating content, from entering it manually to pulling from an existing database or scraping and manipulating content from a live site.
The method we select together is based on how much content you have, if you have access to the database, and how it's stored.
Yes, the front end that visitors see will be mobile responsive and work on mobile devices. In addition, it will automatically resize itself based on the screen size and resolution of the device used by the person visiting the site.
The backend/content management area is geared towards a laptop/desktop/large tablet environment and isn't conducive to being managed on mobile devices.
This is generally true for almost all available platforms.
Yes, you'll have a Project Manager and will speak with them often.
They may bring in designers and developers on calls with you to clarify functionality but in general they will work with you to turn your requirements into actionable tasks and then work with the team to make sure the output matches what you are expecting.
Yes, we often provide ongoing services for sites we build.
Our Maintenance and Care Plan usually includes monthly Drupal core updates, enhanced backups, etc.
If you need assistance with updates or changes, we can help with that too.
Since every project is truly unique, the range varies based on the complexity of the project. We can tell you that we've developed custom Drupal sites ranging from $15K to $200K.
With such a large range, we understand this may not be helpful. That's why we've come up with a process where we briefly discuss your project at a high level and then come up with a recommended budget.
Yes, we've built very simple to massively complex sites on Drupal. Everything from a local store to a content site with millions of visitors. Give us a ring and we will tell you more.
For most projects, the Project Manager will schedule a weekly call to update you on what we've accomplished, what's next, and get clarification if needed.
We also use an online communication tool we use daily that shows you what we are working on, have discussions, share assets, and allows developers to join the conversation.
We also set up a Staging environment that allows you to play with the site at different intervals and provide us with feedback.
In short, we have multiple ways of keeping the lines of communication open.
There are many CMS/CMF options available. You've probably heard of WordPress, Sitecore, Joomla, Magento, Umbraco, Expression Engine, and Sitefinity.
Truthfully, each platform has overlapping functionality and unique pros and cons. Still, we've chosen to focus on Drupal and WordPress because they provide the most advantages with the least impactful cons.
We would rather be an expert on a few platforms vs. mediocre on many.
Other companies may focus on different CMS platforms, and that's great. However, if another platform best fits your needs, you should choose the one that will give you the features you need, in the way you need them, and with the best possible long-term cost of ownership.
If you aren't sure what you need or what would work best for you, please reach out, and we would be happy to provide any insight we may have.
Yes, we can and often provide ongoing hosting for sites we build.
Hosting fees vary based on what you need. Some projects can run on a virtual server, whereas others may require load balancing, database replication, etc.
Have a hunch that we might be your type? Tell us a little about your project. You'll hear back from us within one business day (but probably sooner).
